How to Work With Your Follicular stage

There is magic when you know what your body’s natural rhythm is. At The Agenda, when we first put together the planner, we realized the power syncing your cycle with your business could have. We’ve written blogs about syncing your life with your Follicular stage here, and on other phases here, but today we’re going to dive into what works look like when you are in your Follicular phase.

Getting out of your period can be a breath of fresh air, you can wear your tight pants again without worrying about changing pads every few hours, and you don’t have to get up in the middle of the night to change your tampon or period cup. But the burst of energy you are craving, may take a minute to kick in.

The Agenda app is useful for tracking your period and symptoms, and with that you can get a clear picture of where you are in your cycle so you can plan your work around it. Unfortunately, there are not days granted off for your period across the board (yet!) but if you set your own schedule, you can do certain things during your Follicular stage that will be easier then, verses doing it during your period or the week before.

What this stage is

In this phase, all the fresh, bright energy you have is ready to explode! Estrogen is starting to rise, and it is the perfect time to make plans. For some women, your new womb lining is growing. Your pituitary gland releases follicle Stimulating Hormones (FSH) to help an egg prepare to release. It’s go time! The archetypes here are Maiden and Virgin. One definition of Virgin is “a woman who belongs to herself,” think of this as a beautiful time to start fresh on goals and projects. Be careful not to overpack the end of your cycle, thinking you’ll have the same energy then as you have now; you’ll regret it.

Tips for organizing your work with your Follicular stage

Have your meetings for what will happen that month. Map it all out, but keep in mind that your energy will wane in about three weeks when your period is coming up. Stack your upcoming week with the heavy lifting of your projects, and take this time to map out the visions of what’s possible that came up for you during your period. Embrace the budding energy to do some of the tasks you’ve been putting off for a while.

Things to do

*Clean

*Organize

*Plan out the month

*The task you keep moving back

*Tiny tasks like scheduling meetings, making requests and sending emails

*Map out projects and start making movement on them.

Questions to ask yourself

*What actions can I take in these next five days that future me will appreciate?

*What have I been putting off that needs to be done?

*Is there anything I deeply know or have intuition on where I need to take action?

*What in my business is off and needs organizing, rearranging, or putting together?
